Dollywood

My dad wanted to take Luke and Madison to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge so a few weeks ago we made a day trip!  It was a  BEAUTIFUL drive!  I love to drive...especially in the mountains so I loved every minute of the long drive!  We had a great time and enjoyed walking around the huge park!  Here are some pictures from our day... (yes Luke is wearing the same shirt he wore to Hollywild...let's just say the dinosaur shirt became a quick favorite!)

When we walked in the park we were greeted by a 3 man band.  They were all in overalls and I think Luke was little taken back by it!  He didn't know what to think!

 Train ride

It was powered by coal!  Who knew they still did that!  The smoke was so thick that when were driving into the park I really thought Dollywood was on fire!

Papa Don and Madison riding the elephant...I think dad was a little big!

 Beautiful little girl

 Best buddies

They were so proud to be able to ride a ride all by themselves!  They rode ducks...

 bumble bees...

 and pigs!

They LOVED the carousel!  They rode it twice!

Oh dad....teaching Luke how to make the horse go faster :)

We watched the process of making syrup in the old days!  Very cool to watch the horses grind down the sugar cane!

Me and the kiddos in front of the steam train and pretty fall decorations!

Such a silly girl!  She thought dad needed a few leaves in his hat...she looks so proud of her creation!

This had to be my favorite ride in the whole place!!!

They thought they were BIG stuff "driving" their own car with us in the passenger seat!

Checking out some of the cool, old cars!

Luke thought this reminded him of Mater from Cars

 Fill er up son!

They had a really neat obstacle course playground for the kids!  Very challenging but fun!

Now that is a lot of pumpkins...and one cute little girl!

Thank you Papa Don for such a fun day!  I love spontaneous trips to the mountains!!
